Centro de Bordados. This cooperative was founded 10 years ago. It was created with the help of Fondo Ecuatoriano Populorum Progressio (FEPP and Ecuatorian NGO). Firstly organized them selves around the embroidered work such as napkins, table cloths, etc. with a cooperation of a swiss customer. On the last years hand knitting work has increased it importance in this cooperative and today CBC means about 200 women involved in both hand embroidered cloths (such as T-shirts, handbags, greeting cards) and hand knitted sweaters.E-mail: cproarte@cue.satnet.net
Tejemujeres. Tejemujeres' headquerters is in Gualeceo (about 60 Km from Cuenca). It was founded in 1992 and counts with the help od SENDAS (a local NGO). It involves nowadays with 120 knitters women. Part of their annual income in destinate to gender activities and communitary health. Tejemujeres is also an active part in forums about local development in its region.E-mail: teje@cue.satnet.net
Anditej. Anditej groups together various different communities from Cuenca y Gualaceo. It was founded in 1993 with the support of Ayuda en Acción (an spanish NGO). They have been consolidated in the last years. Today Anditej involves more than 200 knitters women. Is the most numerous organization for Ecoknits.
